About me

Loves long drives, food junkie, spends time on youtube and Netflix and once dreamed of becoming cricketer.

Who am I

I’m Akbar H. Shah, and my work sits at the crossroads of healthcare innovation, product design, and strategic thinking. My journey began as a web designer, collaborating with brands like CarWale, Videocon d2h, Viraj, and Citi Group. Over time, I developed a passion for user-centric solutions, venturing across industries—petrochemicals, IT, healthcare IT, advertising, fashion, and real estate—to refine my approach to creative problem-solving.

Currently, I focus on the Patient Engagement vertical at healow (eClinicalWorks). This B2B2C model positions healthcare providers as direct clients while ultimately benefiting patients. By merging product design with strategic business thinking, I tackle healthcare’s most pressing challenges, from UX improvements to marketing campaigns. Grounded in data-driven insights, our solutions aim to enhance outcomes and streamline the patient journey.

A vital part of my role is collaborating with design agencies and partner vendors. Whether it’s launching telehealth platforms or refining existing interfaces, I lead initiatives that balance functionality and compelling user experiences. Recently, I’ve embraced generative AI and other AI-driven features, using them to create more personalized healthcare solutions. This leverages automated data analysis and tailored interactions so that providers can intervene earlier, and patients can enjoy smoother digital engagements.

My key focus areas include

  • Product Design, where form and function unite to serve real-world needs;
  • UX Advocacy, championing user-centric methodologies for patients and providers alike;
  • Digital Marketing Strategy, scaling online visibility for healthcare brands;
  • Product Innovation, turning ideas into results through iterative testing; and
  • AI-Driven Solutions, enabling unprecedented personalization and efficiency.

My overarching objective is to collaborate with forward-thinking organizations that aim to transform patient care through design, technology, and marketing. By harnessing generative AI and other emerging tools, we can revolutionize healthcare systems, making them more intuitive and effective than ever before.

When I’m not immersed in healthcare design, I love heading out on long drives, indulging my foodie side, and unwinding with YouTube or Netflix. I once even dreamed of becoming a cricketer—a passion that taught me discipline and teamwork, both of which still guide my professional ethos today.
