Who am I
I’m Akbar H. Shah, and my work sits at the crossroads of healthcare innovation, product design, and digital marketing.
My journey began as a web designer, collaborating with teams that delivered work for brands such as CarWale, Videocon d2h, Viraj, and Citi Group. Over time, I developed a deep interest in user-centric solutions and moved across industries—healthcare IT, automotive, telecom, finance, advertising, fashion, and real estate—which helped me learn how to adapt quickly and solve complex problems in very different contexts.
Today, my primary focus is on the Patient Engagement vertical at healow (eClinicalWorks). I work in a B2B2C model, where healthcare providers are the direct clients and patients are the end users. In this space, I combine product design with strategic thinking to improve how patients interact with their care and how providers manage those relationships.
I currently wear two hats:

As a Product Designer, I shape patient-facing and provider-facing experiences, and I’m actively involved in building a new healthcare product from 0→1—owning the concept, vision, stakeholder alignment, and launch.

As a Digital Marketing Lead, I guide a team that helps healthcare providers improve their online presence and patient acquisition, ensuring that what we design is not just usable, but discoverable and impactful in the real world.
A growing part of my work involves AI-powered solutions. I have integrated generative AI and conversational AI features into patient engagement experiences to make interactions more personalized and efficient, while keeping a close eye on HIPAA requirements and other healthcare constraints. I also work within design systems using tools like Figma, FigJam, and FigMake, contributing feedback and improvements that help the broader team move faster and stay consistent.

My overarching objective is to collaborate with forward-thinking organizations that want to make healthcare more human, more intuitive, and more effective. By bringing together product design, digital marketing, and AI, I aim to support experiences that respect clinical realities while feeling as simple as the best consumer products.
When I’m not working on healthcare products, you’ll probably find me on a long drive, exploring new food spots, or unwinding with YouTube or Netflix. At one point, I dreamed of becoming a cricketer, a passion that taught me discipline, resilience, and teamwork, values that still guide how I show up in every project and collaboration
